The article is devoted to the study of the influence of social institutions on the peculiarities of ensuring the quality of life of people with disabilities. The author analyzes modern approaches to the study of the phenomenon of quality of life. The main methodological grounds for assessing the quality of life of the population are given. Using the UN methodology, the author examines the role of social institutions in ensuring the quality of life of people with disabilities according to three proposed groups of characteristics: standard of living, health and longevity, and the ability to acquire knowledge.
