Page of Mukhtar Abduyev in Azerbaijani soil science

Abduev Ilham   (Ph.D. of Agricultural Sciences, Researcher Institute of Soil Science National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan)

Professor Mukhtar Abduyev is one of the founders of the soil science in Azerbaijan. His main scientific research has been devoted to the study of the saline soils of our republic. Professor M. Abduyev is an author of brilliant studies dedicated to removal of salts from saline foothill plains, types and classification of salinization of soils, ways of acceleration of washing of saline soils etc. The theoretical issues identified by scientist in regard of the origin of salinization and its evolution, migration of salts, properties and the principles of soil amelioration had enriched and developed the ameliorative soil science. For the first time Professor M. Abduyev had developed the principals of restoration offertility of oil-contaminated soils and making it suitable for farming, and trained a lot specialists in this field.
