The effectiveness of wetting solutions for pre-wetting of coal seams

There are high amount of harmful substances in the air of working area of coal industry, whose concentration is many times greater than the accepted limit. High concentrations of these substances leads to a large amount of professional diseases which are associated with a lesion of the respiratory organs. In addition, high dust content in coal mining can lead to fires and explosions, therefore preventing of this are the key issue in this industry. In this paper the main aspects of the use of wetting agents to moisten the coal seams were treated. The main brands of wetting agents and disadvantages were analyzed. Some promising wetting agents that may be used in the future were presented. In conclusion, it should be noted that the creation of new systems of wetting agents will greatly improve the level of industrial safety and labor protection in the coal industry.
