The article offers a preliminary assessment of the material collected during the 2013 expedition. In the course of the expedition, an ethnic group of Sart Kalmyks was comprehensively researched. The anthropometric programme involved measurements of 84 females and 119 males; 830 photographs were made for composite portraits and forms were filled in for the race programme; 197 blood samples were collected for genetic analysis. The haplogroup analysis included 61 Sart Kalmyk males whose ancestors were Sart Kalmyks. High frequency of the R haplogroup – 55.7%. Some haplogroups found are rare within the Mongoloid populations under study: J – 14.8%, I (M170) – 4.9%, D (M174) – 1.64%.
