The analysis of a clinical case of a patient with herpetic meningoencephalitis was carried out, which was observed for a long time in the late follow-up period of convalescence. The main difficulties of timely diagnosis, late appointment of etiotropic therapy, which leads to disabling complications and are the cause of adverse outcomes, are identified.
