Some ways of reducing the "Dark figure" of crime in the USA

Correct measurement of crime rate has always been important for estimating the effectiveness of miscellaneous criminological theories and crime control actions. But during the last three decades in the USA more efforts have been made to measure the volume of crime in order to evaluate the empirical accuracy of various crime theories and the achievements of different crime control policies. Decisions on the success or failure of crime policies and attempts to reduce prevalence of crime depend on the accurate measurement of crime, including the “dark figure” of crime.
