The Renaissance is directly connected with changes in the world, in society. There are new ideals, chief among which is the ideal of the new man, and, consequently, the ideal of the new ruler, is particularly active, they were developed in Italy in the XV - XVI centuries, the Most fully socio-political theory was developed by philosopher, historian, politician Niccolo Machiavelli.
First of all, the interests of Machiavelli was the policy of the government. Often his image was associated with deceit, immorality, cynicism, unscrupulous. In Italy, Machiavelli was considered the patron of liars, in England, was nicknamed "Old Nick" (Old Nick, which was a popular name for Satan), Shakespeare called it a "murderous, bloody Machiavel".
