Formation of the institute of land ownership as the subject of the theory of institutional change

Smirnov Artem Nikolaevich  (post-graduate student of the State University of management)

The article contains a review of theoretical approaches to institutional change, including the question of the emergence of land tenure. The survey allows for categorizing relevant theories. The article proceeds with a listing of hypotheses regarding the origin of property rights and land tenure rights in particular. A comprehensive study of institutionalist views on land tenure is essential to making realistic assumptions of its shaping through related markets, e.g. labor market.
