The paper provides a detailed analysis of the United States’ official investments in the economies of the Baltic States. The study highlights the areas of investment cooperation: social, military, economic, political. The analysis shows that most of the American investments were aimed at military cooperation with the Baltic States. As a result, the amount of funds allocated from the United States made it possible to finance the defense budgets of the Baltics up to 15 percent in some years. Investments in the political sphere of cooperation have been aimed at the development of democracy since 1990, by creation a network of NGOs controlled by Washington. As a result, U.S. activity allowed the Baltic States to withdraw from the Soviet Union, which enabled the United States to dominate this part of the CEE region.
