Food security issues, including the import substitution of food products, play a very large role in the Russian economy, especially in connection with the complex political and economic situation in recent years. The main criterion for the country's food security is the stable provision of the population with high-quality products. Effective development of the agro-industrial complex, including such a sub-sector as rice, is one of the most important structural elements that ensure the food security of the country. The article considers the current state and prospects for the development of rice in the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygea.
