A study to establish the cause of a fire is integral, but at the same time one of the most difficult in the framework of a forensic fire and technical examination. Examination to determine the cause of a fire in many cases is complex, both in the epistemological sense and in the procedural one. For the production of this study, in addition to fire-technical experts, such specialists as automotive technicians, explosives technicians, forensic specialists for a comprehensive examination of substances of products and materials (KEMVI), etc. are often involved. This article is devoted to a comprehensive fire-technical and automotive technical expertise in the study of a vehicle after fire.
This article is the author's view on the question of the feasibility of conducting a comprehensive fire-technical and auto-technical examination in the study of a vehicle after a fire. The opinion is substantiated that the examination of a burned-out car, in order to establish the causes of what happened, is a complex type of expert research, due to the complex nature of the tasks being solved and solely by a fire-technical expert, it can only be solved with a certain degree of approximation. The reasons why the establishment of the relationship between the repair of the vehicle, its design flaws and accidents is a jointly solved, integration task are disclosed.
