separate issues of the influence of small and medium-sized businesses are revealed with an emphasis on wholesale trade, construction, consulting and scientific and technical activities, the development of a diversified agri-food sector, domestic tourism and youth entrepreneurship, the creation of new IT enterprises as priorities for the growth of the regional economy. Based on the results of the analysis, the conclusion was drawn that despite a number of limiting factors, small and medium-sized regional businesses should be directed to the creation of sustainable industries that expand the possibilities for implementing new high-level technologies.
