In the introduction, it is noted that the relevance of the research topic is due to the growing gap between the poor and rich segments of the population in economically developed and developing countries, the general spread of social inequality in the global space and the insecurity of the population living in Africa. In such circumstances, it is important to study the measures taken on the territory of States that openly declare that they have defeated poverty. Previously, the author was interested in considering the social policy of different states. As part of the article, the author noted that the official names of international organizations will be used: the United Nations (UN), the International Development Association (IDA), the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD).
In the course of the research, methods such as analysis, synthesis of literary sources and official data taken from the official websites of the International Monetary Fund, the United Nations and the Governments of China, Norway and France were used. The data obtained were collected and presented in the form of two tables, which are called "The ranking of the world's poorest countries by gross domestic product, 2023" and "Concentration of the poor population by Chinese provinces in 2023". The author also focused on the study of government measures taken by the Chinese government, which are aimed at eliminating poverty.
In general, this article presents an urgent problem – the methods of combating poverty that have been undertaken in different countries of the world. The author also considered the main approaches to understanding the concept of "poverty", which are presented in modern scientific literature. Much attention was paid to the causes and consequences of the occurrence of the phenomenon in question. The actions of the Governments of China, France and Norway were presented, which made it possible to eliminate poverty: the organization of additional educational courses, sending qualified specialists to remote rural areas for consultations, providing preferential loans to the poorest segments of the population for the implementation of any goals, additional support for large families in the form of free breakfasts, etc.
