today atherosclerosis is a common disease throughout the world. Recently, mortality from coronary heart disease, the leading cause of which is atherosclerosis, has increased significantly (up to 70%). The literature data prove the urgency of the problem. The leading pathogenesis factor is genetically determined and acquired disorders of lipoprotein metabolism. The literature defines a clear relationship between the concentration of cholesterol in the blood and the percentage of mortality from cardiovascular diseases. Subsequent data from pathogenesis studies have shown that not only hypercholesterolemia, but also other disorders of lipid metabolism play an important role in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. Treatment with a group of statin drugs is used only in a small percentage of patients with this pathology. In order to achieve a real therapeutic effect, treatment with drugs of this group should take a long time, which is economically unprofitable for the patients. At the same time, their intake can be accompanied by many side effects that worsen the quality of life.
Today, it remains important to search for new and effective methods of treatment of patients with prolonged therapeutic effect, more cost-effective, without side effects. It is quite probable that one of such methods will be the technique of combined intravenous laser irradiation of blood with a blue laser (= 450 nm) and intravenous ozonization of blood.
Keywords:therapeutic effect, side effects, laser irradiation, blood ozonization, lipid metabolism, atherosclerosis.
