The prevalence of carotid atherosclerosis leads to severe medical and social consequences, leading to the patient's disability or death. Tactics of surgical treatment on carotid arteries is determined by the degree of surgical risk for the patient, as well as its anatomical and physiological characteristics. The article describes the options of surgical treatment of carotid atherosclerosis: stenting, endarterectomy, angioplasty, bypass surgery and prosthetics.
