This article is devoted to the problems and prospects of using Arduino/Freeduino microcontrollers as an input-output subsystem developed by a software and hardware complex (PTC). These controllers have proven themselves in the automation systems “Smart Home” and “Internet of Things” as reliable, stable equipment. Another reason for choosing these particular microcontrollers is a small price. A large number of input-output ports allows you to collect complex measuring systems, and the failed board can be quickly replaced with any similar one. Accordingly, completing the microcontroller with different types of junctions (galvanic, relay), we obtain ready-made input-output modules. In automated process control systems (APCS), the modules are mounted in cabinets of communication devices with objects (I / O), usually on a DIN rail, and are intended for processing standard signals (current: 0 - 20 mA and 4 - 20 mA, digital +24 volts).
