Abdominal aortic aneurysm is one of the most dangerous diseases of the cardiovascular system, so the attention of surgeons is aimed at finding effective methods of its treatment. Purpose of the study was to assess opportunities for improving treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms. A comparative assessment of the results of surgical treatment of 48 patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms was performed. The main group (n = 24) included patients who used a newly developed device for the formation of venous grafts. The control group (n = 24) consisted of patients treated by standard methods. The frequency of all intra- and postoperative cardiovascular, cerebral and renal complications associated with the duration of aortic clamping was evaluated. As a result, in the patients of the main group, the average blood loss during the operation was significantly lower - 402.1 ± 41.6 ml versus 437.5 ± 38.4 ml in the control group patients (p <0.05). In the main group, specific cardio-cerebral complications were significantly less frequently observed - 4.2% versus 25.0% in the control group (p <0.05). The proposed technique of non-standard tactics for reconstruction of the abdominal aorta regarding its aneurysmal expansion allows to significantly improve the results of the operation.
