Providing high-quality and safe surgical treatment in accordance with modern requirements is a complex, multicomponent and resource-intensive process that places special demands on the qualifications of medical personnel at all levels. The review considers the principles of improving the internal quality control and safety of medical activities in relation to the work of the surgical service. It is especially important to have the ultimate strength of the healthcare system during a period of force majeure, which includes the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the ways to do this is to stimulate the professional growth of surgeons in the direction of mastering the principles of management in clinical work.
