The article discusses the use of PegINF-α-2a in combination with ribavirin contributes to a significant decrease in the concentrations of the studied cytokines, which serves as a prognostic sign of a good response to antiviral therapy in patients with chronic hepatitis C. Serum indicators of TGF-β1 and TIMP-1 have a reliable relationship with the main clinical parameters characterizing the activity of HCG C. An increase in the content of TGF-β1 and TIMP-1 in blood serum is probably an unfavorable factor involved in the mechanisms of damage and progression of liver fibrosis in HCG.
