Relevance. There is limited information available on the outcome of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI).
Materials and methods. In a single-center retrospective study, we evaluated the outcomes of patients admitted with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction and non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction during the COVID-19 pandemic (01.10. the same period a year earlier.
Results. In 2020, 147 patients and 225 in 2019 with AMI turned to the regional vascular center. During a pandemic, the GRACE scores were 144.9 ± 39.4 compared to the pre-pandemic period in 2019 130.6 ± 34.4 (p=0.027). Hospital mortality from MI during the pandemic in 2020 and before it in 2019 was 9.5% and 4%, respectively (p=0.031).
Conclusion. We analyzed the largest series of COVID-19 infections to date in patients with MI. They found a high mortality rate and a negative prognosis in the analysis of survival compared to the period before the pandemic of the new coronavirus infection.
