The current year for all surgeons in the Russian Federation is significant in that exactly 30 years ago, laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LCE) was performed for the first time in our country. The medical significance of this event lies in the fact that a huge number of patients with gallstone disease became possible to radically help in a minimally invasive way, thereby providing a clinical result, coupled with a low risk of unwanted consequences of treatment. In the process of developing the operating technology, surgeons, from the initial practice of treating patients with chronic calculous cholecystitis, extended the experience of performing LCE to cases of acute cholecystitis, having achieved the greatest positive effect in patients with complicated somatic status.
Keywords:surgery, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, cholelithiasis, acute cholecystitis.
