Treatment of massive soft tissue injuries is the cause of prolonged inactivity and requires significant resources. At the moment, there are no uniform principles and guidelines for the treatment of such injuries in the Russian Federation. The use of expensive methods and local remedies is not always proven to be effective and imposes an additional financial and operational burden on the medical institution and medical staff. A loose absorbent bandage is a cheap, safe and effective alternative to expensive methods such as a vacuum aspiration system for wound treatment. Its effectiveness has been proven by the International Red Cross in armed conflicts and can be successfully applied in the conditions of trauma centers of the Russian Federation.
The aim of the study is to equate the effectiveness of treatment of soft tissue wounds of various localization with a loose absorbent bandage and other methods, including high-tech methods such as a vacuum aspiration system of wounds. As a result, we saw that a loose absorbent bandage is in no way inferior in quality to the treatment of wounds of various localization compared to other methods, however, this method is simpler, cheaper and more affordable.
