The results of an experiment on the reconstruction of the vegetation cover of the dumps of the «Pervomaisky» coal mine (Kuzbass) are presented, which consists in applying soil removed from the territory of the mining allotment to the leveled dump, bypassing the stage of formation of burts from it. Within three years, it was possible to form a nature-like community with a high species diversity (30-40 species), which is not achieved with self-healing of the dump for several decades.
