The Total Ship Computing Environment (TSCE) concept, using network communication and computer control technologies, integrates all network, computing, storage, display and intercom equipment to support the entire sys-tem of a warship in a single public computing Noah and demo environment.
TSCE provides an open, common and standard integrated operating en-vironment for the integration of various equipment functions on a plug and play basis throughout the ship, which contributes to the flexible organization and operation of the system, and can also provide technical support when re-ducing the size of the vessel and increasing efficiency.
The implementation of supervisory control in the ship's information in-frastructure provides a multifunctional environment that is fully integrated with tactical decision making, maintenance and administration. These control functions are available due to their ability to run on any computer. Due to the complexity of the networked computer system and software-based applica-tions, this infrastructure can be vulnerable to hostile and common mode fail-ures. Requires automatic security grace-down and critical backup management features. System integrity and fault tolerance depend on both the redundancy level and the redundancy management strategy. Analytical redundancy can provide a fundamentally new paradigm for managing redundancy.
