Parkinson's disease (PD) is a chronic neurodegenerative disease that leads to severe disability in patients. The disease has been known to the whole world for quite a long time, when James Parkinson first described it in 1817 as "trembling palsy". Even with the progress of medicine and the emergence of modern instrumental methods for diagnosing diseases, verification of Parkinson's disease is mainly carried out on the basis of a clinical examination of the patient, collection of complaints and anamnesis. At this stage, a significant part of specialists make mistakes, which subsequently leads to the appointment of inadequate therapy and the lack of effectiveness of treatment. It was decided to investigate this issue in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, where we got uninspiring results. Significant problems and errors in the diagnosis and treatment of PD at various stages of medical care have been identified. Some methods for solving these problems are also proposed.
