The Republic of Dagestan is located at a considerable distance from the central part of our country - about 2000 km, and is the southernmost key strategic subject of the Russian Federation. In quantitative terms, in the republic, the share of the rural population significantly prevails over the urban population, while a large number permanently reside in the midlands and highlands, so historically, almost all of these families are classified as large families according to the current legislation of the Russian Federation. Today, the availability of qualified medical and other necessary medicinal care and sanitary educational activities to the rural population of the Republic of Dagestan is at a low level, while in recent decades there has been a positive trend in changing the situation in this area. These factors negatively affect people’s ability to access qualified medical and drug care, increasing the incidence of diseases, including dermatological ones, namely infectious skin diseases caused by fungi. As part of the article, we analyzed the influence of various factors on the spread of fungal diseases in the Republic of Dagestan in recent years.
