OSTEOPOROSIS AND OSTEOPENIA IN PATIENTS WITH COPD

The high incidence of osteopenia/osteoporosis in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (copd) determines the methodological and social significance of this problem. First of all, it should be noted the negative impact on the quality of life caused by spontaneous fractures. The literature data presents the main facts about the risk of developing osteopenia/osteoporosis in patients with copd. Their study allows us to optimize the approach to the management of this cohort of patients.
