Hematologic malignancies, which have become increasingly common and present a variety of clinical and molecular features, pose challenges in treatment and prognosis. Epigenetic regulation, including mutations associated with DNA methylation, plays a key role in these processes. Hypomethylating agents and histone deacetylase inhibitors are effective in the treatment of some forms of leukemia and lymphoma. The review examines the factors responsible for DNA methylation.
