The article discusses pulmonary embolism (PE) in pregnant women. It has been noted that during pregnancy, central hemodynamics changes significantly; with increasing gestational age, heart rate, ejection fraction, and minute blood volume increase, which leads to the risk of pulmonary embolism. Variants of thrombotic complications in pregnant women with pulmonary embolism have been identified. The features of the diagnosis of pulmonary embolism during pregnancy are considered. Ways to increase the survival rate of pregnant women with PE have been identified: strengthen diagnostics or adhere to more aggressive prevention. It is concluded that the treatment of pulmonary embolism in pregnant women is gradually moving closer to the principles of treatment in the general population due to a reduction in the restrictions of therapeutic and diagnostic measures associated with pregnancy.
Keywords:pulmonary embolism, pregnancy, diagnosis, venous system, treatment.
