Purpose of the study. Analysis of publications devoted to the diagnosis of damage to the walls of the orbit.
Materials and methods. A search and analysis of domestic and foreign scientific sources over the past 5 years or more, indexed in the databases and libraries of the Russian Science Citation Index, PubMed, eLibrary, Medline, Web of Science and Google Scholar, was carried out.
Results. The leading factor in the formation of post-traumatic enophthalmos and binocular diplopia are traumatic injuries to the walls of the orbits. Surgical correction and reconstruction of such injuries and their consequences are of great social importance. Currently, the main method for studying damage to the orbit is multislice computed tomography, which allows one to assess the extent of damage to both bone and soft tissue elements of the orbit during trauma.
Conclusion. In the literature, there are rare reports on the diagnosis of damage to the walls of the orbits and enophthalmos using magnetic resonance imaging. It is planned to propose a mathematical model for the restoration of bone and soft tissue structures of the orbit based on magnetic resonance imaging data.
Keywords:orbital wall, orbital skt, orbital wall fracture, post-traumatic enophthalmos
