A clinical case is devoted to the development of a serious complication after the appointment of amantadine as a starting therapy for a patient with Parkinson's disease. Patient data is obtained by examining the patient's medical records, as well as conducting a neurological examination, analyzing complaints, anamnesis of the disease and life. During the study of the patient's medical history, it was found that after the appointment of amantadine, the patient developed an acute urinary retention after some time, which subsequently led to other serious complications. A clinical example shows that it is necessary to carefully collect information about concomitant diseases of a patient with Parkinson's disease when prescribing antiparkinsonian therapy.
