The article examines the general principles of monitoring of water bodies and methods of its implementation in modern conditions. The main levels of surveillance and monitoring parameters are described the features of monitoring the state of the bottom, the mode of use of water protection zones, morphometric changes of water bodies are presented.
The goal of the study is to describe the basics of monitoring water bodies, analyze the main methods of monitoring water bodies, identify advantages and disadvantages.
Materials and methods of research. The research methodology is based on the analysis of theoretical positions on this issue, methods of comparison, complex synthesis, observation are used.
Results and conclusions. The features, advantages and disadvantages of the monitoring system of the condition of aquatic bodies and its methods were identified. Their elimination is possible taking into account the modern requirements of the external environment, through the use of modern control techniques, including monitoring the process of contamination of large areas.
