The article, based on its own research, analyzes and compares methods for restoring the lost part of the tooth before prosthetics, namely: build-up and a post-and-core inlay. The study found that the build-up technique can be a worthy alternative to a post-and-core inlay, since it performs a similar function, while less likely to cause root cracks, the method is considered more aesthetic, including less traumatic, not requiring strong preparation of healthy tissues. As in the case of using a post-and-core inlay for stumps, the build-up procedure is characterized by the ability to withstand increased chewing loads, which makes it applicable in conditions of significant biomechanical stress. Having analyzed the survey results, it was found that a significant number of orthopedic dentists prefer to use the build-up technology in their practice, which indicates its high demand among professionals in this field. The reason is that the technique in question is superior to the post-and-core system due to its technological novelty, and the use of an adhesive approach to fixation reduces the likelihood of side effects, while offering significant improvements in terms of efficiency.
