Cytokines play a key role in regulating inflammatory processes in alcoholic hepatitis. Understanding their functions is crucial for developing new therapeutic strategies. This study is aimed at a comprehensive analysis of the features of expression and interaction of pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines at different stages of alcoholic liver damage. Methods of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, flow cytometry, and real-time PCR were used. The sample included 120 patients with acute alcoholic hepatitis and 80 patients with chronic alcoholic hepatitis. Results showed a statistically significant (p<0.01) increase in TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-8 levels in acute hepatitis, correlating with the degree of liver damage (r=0.68). In chronic hepatitis, an increase in IL-10 and TGF-β (p<0.05) was identified. The imbalance of pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines may serve as a predictor of disease progression. The obtained data open prospects for the development of diagnostic biomarkers and targeted immunocorrection..
