The article analyzes the problematic issues related to the evolution of legal traditions in the countries of Western civilization. Western civilization has a rich socio-cultural experience. It is necessary to take from it for the Russian legal soil only all positive and acceptable. Today it is necessary to isolate and explore the possibility of building a common cultural and legal space in which a worthy place for Russia should be found.
