Despite the relatively prevalence of post-traumatic stress disorder, diagnostic criteria are still the subject of scientific discussion and disputes are intensively studied and clarified. This article is dedicated to some problems of diagnosis post-traumatic stress disorder contains a description of the symptoms, risk factors and individual predicts of vulnerability: gender, age, profession, and it affects some aspects that aggravate the course of post-traumatic stress disorder.
The problems of people diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, are considered, and compared with people who simply have experienced psychological trauma but do not have signs of post-traumatic stress disorder, they are in a worse position in terms of quality of life and, therefore, this disorder is not only medical. There is an urgent need for a whole range of measures to support and restore the functional, professional and social adaptation of such people.
