The work expanded the understanding of the factors contributing to the emergence of neurotic disorders in modern young people: such a factor is acceleration, which affects all levels of human life, including its existential (deep) level and leading to a decrease in the feeling of existential fulfillment in young people, which in turn is an important determinant of the onset of neurotic disorders and addictive behavior.
The respondents were young people - active users of Internet gaming portals, given that their use of them is often viewed as a kind of "escapism", a decrease in the level of functioning, a manifestation of gambling addiction, which are also characteristic of neurotic disorders. The prevalence and severity of neurotic states in young people 18-27 years old - active users of Internet gaming portals - were determined: in 79.9% various neurotic states were found, and in 61% their painful nature was revealed.
It is shown that the lower the existential fulfillment and its components, the higher the level of severity of neurotic states in young people: a decrease in the general level of existential fulfillment, as well as all its components, is characteristic precisely for young people with a high severity of neurotic states.
Keywords:neurotic states, existential fulfillment
