The unique interpretation of M.V. Yudina’s Six intermezzos (op. 116—119) by I. Brahms

In this paper, we intend to analyze some aspects of the interpretation of one of the largest representatives of the Soviet pianistic school, Maria Veniaminovna Yudina, of the Six Intermezzos by the great German composer Johannes Brahms. The problem of reading the author's text is great and endless, and, of course, this work does not in any way claim to cover this complex topic comprehensively. We will talk only about some features of the sound of I. Brahms' music performed by M. Yudina. The first section of the work is devoted to a general description of intermezzo as a genre and its role in Brahms's later work. The second part characterizes the creative image of Maria Veniaminovna Yudina. The final section provides a brief analysis of Yudina's interpretation of Six intermezzos of Brahms' late opuses.
