The purpose of the article is to characterize the features of childless families and their place in the general family system, as well as to analyze the psychological characteristics of conflicts in childless couples. In the process of conducting a psychodiagnostic study, it was found that the family conflictogenicity of men in such couples is weakly expressed, and the leading conflictogenic spheres of women include relationships with friends and relatives and the problem of partner dominance. It has been established that the assessment of the conflictogenicity of issues related to the dominance of a partner is significantly higher in women than in men. It has been suggested that the fear of vulnerability, dependent position in relations with a partner may underlie the refusal of motherhood in childless couples.
