The work is devoted to the study of the most important aspects of familiarity associated with the representation of semiotic images that exist in the socio-cultural practices of the peoples of the North Caucasus. Hence the regularity of the cultural and historical analysis of the practices of familiarisation used by the ethno-cultures of territorially neighbouring peoples. The study is based on the theoretical works of Russian and foreign historians, culture experts and ethnographers who examine the socio-cultural traditions of peoples. The author used conceptual principles of socio-cultural syncretism to analyse the traditions of ethnic familiarity. Using the representation of forms of communicative signs demonstrating the identity of related cultures, the author identified and systematized the graphic foundations of sign formations in the socio-cultural practices of ethnic groups. The study has shown the similarity between the traditions of signification and behavioral principles mirroring the regularities of semiotic practices in the national cultures of the North Caucasus.
