The opera “Turandot” created by the great Italian composer Puccini contains many ideas about the “Chineseness”. In attempts to attract viewers to the traditional culture, Chinese artists began to adapt the opera by implementing various Chinese elements. This article examines the trend of sinicization of the opera “Turandot” and studies its different versions. The penetration and development of Chinese folk customs in this opera sum up the positive impact of the integration of Chinese and Western cultures.
