In this article, the author considers the problem of the "Russian World" as a sociocultural phenomenon of Russia. The author draws attention to the historical prerequisites for the formation of the "Russian World," points to the modern position on the part of the official authorities and Russian society in relation to the Russian foreign countries. The concept of "Russian World" was formed for a long time and went from the stage of spontaneous formation.
As the author notes, growing up on Russian soil, saturated with Russian spirit, Slavophile thinkers put forward the position of the true Christian foundations of Russia. On the contrary, Eurasian thinkers put forward the thesis of understanding the "Russian World" through the prism of the evolution of Russian Orthodoxy, which they believed to be the direct heir to Byzantine Christianity. According to the author, the different role of Christian ethics determined the differences between Russian and Western civilization, which is associated with pagan rudiments of the culture of the Russian world.
