In this article, the author examines the role of Kundry from Richard Wagner's opera "Parsifal". As a result of the analysis, features were identified that distinguish this role from female created by the composer earlier. The literary sources that served as the basis for the creation of the character of Kundry in the opera were studied: pagan (mythological), Christian, Buddhist. The characterization of the image of Kundry is given based on the score, as well as Wagner's comments. The musical material of "Parsifal" is analyzed, including the tessitura of the role and the composer's musical and scenic solutions, on the basis of which the features of the performers' work on the part of Kundry are highlighted.
