Skopa V. A.  (Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Head of the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Studies Altai State Pedagogical University (Barnaul) )

The article examines the Renaissance as a cultural and historical space of new creative thinking. The Renaissance is a historical period between the Middle Ages and the New Age. It is revealed that the Renaissance developed under the sign of humanism. Strengthening the humanistic direction necessitated the visualization of human achievements, their transformation into paintings, sculptures, poems, and prose works. One of the most important tasks of the Renaissance was not just the restoration of classical ancient ideals, but their transformation taking into account modernity, new needs, and achievements of people. The plots of paintings, sculptures, and literature of the Renaissance show that man, captured in them, is not only the crown of creation, but also beautiful, active, demonstrating the greatness of God.
