Examination of industrial safety at hazardous production facilities is an integral part of the control and supervision of the operation of hazardous production facilities. However, despite the high value of this kind of work in the field of industrial safety, the number of accidents remains at a sufficiently high level. There is a large gap between the legislative arm of supervision and control and real safety at hazardous production facilities. In accordance with this, the field of the study of industrial safety expertise to improve conditions at hazardous production facilities arises most acutely. In this paper, the main provisions of the law relating to industrial safety expertise were considered. The basic requirements to the process of examination of industrial safety were formulated. The main provisions in the examination were analyzed. It should be noted that the currently existing mechanisms of the examination are far from perfect and in most cases almost do not work, based on this analysis. Therefore examination of industrial safety in this area should be carried more carefully: to gain control over the admission of staff to work at hazardous industrial facilities with relevant experts the requirements for knowledge in specific fields, it is necessary to increase the state control over the activities of expert organizations that should not be limited to federal departments.
