This article introduces the assessment of services' current state in Saint-Petersburg at a time of the effective demand decrease. Such a difficult economic situation became a result of the world economic crisis. The territorial organization of services depends on a wide range of factors. These factors directly and indirectly influence the development in this sphere. The development tendency is also observed in the article together with the regional characteristics of Saint-Petersburg. For the characteristics of the particular territorial entities of the Russian Federation definitely influence the internal regional difference in location of the services sphere.
