In recent years, Russia has seen a number of changes and initiatives aimed at improving interaction between citizens and government agencies, including in the field of involving citizens in government, which is an urgent aspect of building an effective and responsible state system. This article examines the main trends in the development and forms of citizen involvement in public administration in Russia, existing problems in this area and possible solutions, as well as prospects for further development of the system of citizen participation in government in the context of digitalization and the introduction of innovative technologies. The author identified the following problems in the issue under study: low level of public confidence in public institutions, inequality of access to the Internet and digital technologies in different regions of the country, the problem of limited influence of citizens on public administration, low level of digital literacy of the population. In accordance with this, the necessary solutions were proposed. In general, it was concluded that there are very favorable prospects for the development of mechanisms for involving citizens in government in Russia in the context of digitalization of the economy and public administration.
