In the article, the author explores the specifics of the image and place of man in the mythology of various peoples, defines the main theories about the origin of man, and also explores various ontological concepts of the creation of the world, man and endowing him with certain qualities.
The study compares the mythological and earthly beginnings in human life, as well as analyzes the anthropogenetic concepts contained in the mythology and epos of various nationalities. The author draws a parallel between naturalistic versions of anthropogenesis and totemic beliefs and, based on this, determines the place of a person in the world, the functions of his being. The study passes through the prism of scientific concepts the mythological specificity of ethnic consciousness and the ambiguous interpretation of human activity.
