The article presents the results of an empirical study of the valu and motivational characteristics of personality, satisfaction with the profession and pedagogical activity of teachers of secondary schools. It is revealed that with an increase in work experience, internal work motivation decreases, satisfaction with professional communication and privileges, high existential meaningfulness of life, which creates prerequisites for professional burnout of teachers. It is shown that the components of satisfaction with activity and profession are mediated by various value-motivational complexes. Satisfaction with external working conditions is characteristic of teachers with internal motivational conflicts and may be compensatory in nature. Satisfaction with certain aspects of the profession is determined by their compliance with the value-motivational orientation of the teacher. The data obtained can be used to develop programs for psychological support of teachers' activities.
