Historical and cultural heritage of the national park "The Russian Arctic" and the Federal nature reserve "Franz-Josef Land": natural and anthropogenic factors threatening the conservation

The article gives an overview and brief description of the historical and cultural heritage of the Novaya Zemlya and Franz-Joseph Land archipelagoes including the main group of the objects of historical-cultural heritage. The authors consider the main natural and anthropogenic factors threatening the preservation of historical and cultural heritage. Special attention is given to the description of preserving the heritage in the Soviet period and its challenges.
